World's First Freeway Hits 75 Today

Not 75 m.p.h., unfortunately. But the Arroyo Seco Parkway did turn 75 yrs. old today. And to think I was riding on it just yesterday. Wish I'd snapped a shot of one of the entrances that still has a STOP sign and is more like a cross street than what most of you would know as an "on-ramp". Not ramped, for one thing.

Dig the CHiPpie uniforms, esp. the motorcycle ChiPs w/ the bow ties & jodhpurs.
