Palm-Lined Street
In the Roaring Twenties (A phrase now seldom heard. Hmm.) palms were planted along some Los Angeles streets.
NB: While a few of our streets are indeed lined w/ palms, not one of them is paved w/ gold. 
Hell, not all of the streets are even paved. And many of the sidewalks are lawsuits waiting to be awarded.
