Live Fire Report

LAist reports that NBC San Diego reports:
A Marine was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound at Camp Pendleton in San Diego County this morning.

The Marine, who was assigned to the 1st Marine Division, was found dead at 0600 at Marksmanship Training Range 214 at Camp Pendleton, NBC San Diego reports. The range where he was found is used for training exercises in which live ammunition is used. No one else was injured.

What led to the shooting is still under investigation, and the identity of the Marine will not be revealed for 24 hours pending notification of his family.
WAVE3 reports that WSMV reports:
FORT CAMPBELL, KY (WSMV) - A Fort Campbell soldier died on Tuesday after being shot during a training exercise, according to officials.

A spokesman said the solider, who has not been identified, died around 10:20 a.m. at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital on post at Fort Campbell.

No other soldiers were injured. The death is currently under investigation.
