SAN DIEGO – California Highway Patrol and the Sheriff’s Department are searching for a DUI suspect who fled after stealing a CHP cruiser.
During an arrest of the suspect by a CHP officer in Temecula, the suspect jumped in the driver’s seat of the cruiser and drove away. The suspect drove south to Fallbrook, crashing the vehicle more than once.
The suspect fled on foot after stopping at State Route 76 at Gird Road in Fallbrook.
