40, 45 Yrs. Ago Today
In (Counter-) Cultural History

We are advised that today marks 40 yrs. since The Ramones first whipped it out on stage. About all one needs to hear to know:
Play fast, die before your 40th anniv.:
They performed 2,263 concerts, touring virtually nonstop for 22 years. [...] By 2014, all of the band's original four members – lead singer Joey Ramone (1951–2001), guitarist Johnny Ramone (1948–2004), bassist Dee Dee Ramone (1952–2002) and drummer Tommy Ramone< (1949–2014) – had died.
More dead members than ex-Beatles & Stones combined; speaking of that generation, 'twas 45 yrs. ago today that Woodstock was in its middle day. Which was also a Saturday.
