100 Yrs. Ago Today ...

S'pose I should pretend to give a damn & note the centenary of the first Big One to Make The World Safe for Democracy.
Most grotesque we could find while bored numb.
How many more you fucking monkeys, how many more?

  1. Too bad you can't smell what that was like.

  2. But fascinating in its own right. The kiddies had all these amazing new toys, complements of the industrial revolution. Mr. Maxim's gun, the French 75, Mustard gas made it easy to kill tens of thousands of troops in a matter of hours, but prevented any real advance by either side. Watching the humans figure out how to cope with the product of their own cleverness is quite the spectacle...

  3. And I can't help but wonder, now Willie McBride,
Do all those who lie here know why they died?
Did you really believe them when they told you 'The Cause?'
Did you really believe that this war would end wars?
Well the suffering, the sorrow, the glory, the shame
The killing, the dying, it was all done in vain,
For Willie McBride, it all happened again,
And again, and again, and again, and again.
