Death Of A Swot

Although he went on to bigger & better (in Britain, unfortunately, so it doesn't count) Rik Mayall (dead earlier this date in London, England at 53) will always be Rick of The Young Ones to this obituary typist. We turn briefly to the Wikipedestria for a discouraging word:
The first series was successful and a second was screened in 1984. The show owed a comic debt to Spike Milligan, but Milligan was disapproving of Mayall. Milligan once wrote: "Rik Mayall is putrid – absolutely vile. He thinks nose-picking is funny and farting and all that. He is the arsehole of British comedy."[6]
The People's Poet. Genius.
A fortunate man, Mr. Mayall w/ his talent & accompanying fame, success, money yada.

The real tragedy is that, talent & yada notwithstanding, I've still outlived his ass, unless he was lying about his age like the rest of the show biz phonies.
