Annals of Sedition

And doomsaying. (28:30) of the original & entire sedition. This chin-bearded ninny calls for the military to take over because the system is bad or something. Why is it rotten & failed? It's counter-intuitive, but the direct election of Senators ruined democracy. He gets the "it's a republic, not a democracy" bit in, of course. Also "the people have discovered they can vote themselves the treasury." (We read somewhere on the iNternet, & not too long ago either, that that's a load of crap too. You could probably look it up.)

Conclusion? The obvious: Only a military take-over can save us from ourselves & democracy. (Gosh, we may have been over-reacting when we assumed that returning to feudalism was the goal — a little ambitious, really; no one's giving up electricity w/o a fight — of these sad old bastards; as they've aged they seem to have settled for turning these United Snakes into a banana republic under the iron fist of a generalissimo.)

Yes but their religion was so much more interesting.

And while I can't really say what it was like to be a Roman general, I do tend to believe that engaging in combat has a way of making one very practical.
