I love that pelican. I used to sit on the Florida beach and wait for flocks of them to slowly, efficiently fly overhead. They'd float up the beach, then down, always so graceful, always running parallel to the shore, above the sand. Remarkable birds.
And this is a remarkable series of pics. Those container ships are amazing! I so love your photography!

That pelican looks like the horrible animatronic one at my local Chevron station at Sunset and PCH.
