Why Taxes Are Evil

McArdle manquée (But she's trying!) Katherine Mangu-Ward reveals the deep thinking behind principled glibbo opposition to the coercion of taxation:
Doing your taxes sucks. Paying someone else to do your taxes sucks, too.

  2. "She is currently on leave." "Leave? Most important people call it a sabbatical, or hiatus. The proletariat calls it a holiday, or a vacation. Most people who are "on leave" or "taking a leave of absence" are in trouble. What did she do?

    She claims to be off typing a book. (As will everyone, eventually.) The use of "leave" is a bit odd. (People don't always return from those, do they?) We weren't so sure she will be back, but we may just be expressing hope.
