You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to have an attorney present while you are commenting. If you cannot afford an attorney, you are "Shit Outta Luck" (SOL). Anything you type here can & may be used against you in a court of law or in a personal "beat-down" administered by a staff member or "associate" of this "web log."

A while back in Vancouver there was a guy who had a storefront and showed films. Just a little room, but he had a projector and NFB cast-offs and a variety of other weird things. It didn't last, but I really love the idea of the tiny movie-viewing place.

ReplyDeleteSadly, this "Cinema" is a Country & Western (Or "alt-country," even.) bar, not a cinematic space. Someone who works at HBO told us they used it as the bar in HBO's just-Cancelled Luck.
Used to be involved w/ this outfit, which was tee vee rather than projection, but a storefront & fun.
I've never been in there, but I've always wanted to check it out. Is it a good dive, or too hipster?

ReplyDeleteGoodness, no hipsters. You'd be quite comfy in there, depending I s'pose on the act (mostly "hick" stuff); for the guy we were dragged to see audience hairs were gray or colored.
Caveat: May be filled w/ show biz weasels from Sony, &c. during the day.
Small place, postage stamp stage & all. Friend & associate thought US$5.50 for beer was steep. To us, bar's are all a rip-off, so whatev.
