Heh heh ... today I had some poor phone-sales sap from the cable company trying to get me to sign up for their AWESOME 3-in-1 deal (you get phone, interwebs service & TeeVee all in one cheap (for now) package!).
Tried telling him I wasn't interested - my home decor is Contemporary /B/tard, so I didn't relish having some poor tech-monkey get lost in the piles of debris - but he was as pushy as they're wont to be ... right up until I pointed out that this deal doesn't tickle my fancy, as I do not own a Boob Tube.
Most un-salesmanlike response I've ever had the delight to behold: the second he heard that I'm (no longer) a box-slave, he got off the line so fast that he all but cut me off in mid-farewell.
Don't worry, Sanjit - it's not contagious! Honest!

Needs the Maxell guy.
ReplyDelete!!!Maxell still exists!!!
Consumer Review Ed.:
ReplyDeleteAs if that hasn't been considered. And how tedious would it be?
Not only exists, we noted Maxell Videotape(!) in Walgreen's just this Mon.
We imagine the Maxell loaf w/ a spike hanging out of his arm, not even moving as his chair disintegrates around him.
"Totally Free Photos"!?

Telemarketing Editor:
ReplyDeleteHmpf. A real salesman would have gotten you to buy a telebision.
Got that same great 3-in-1 deal you were offered. (Having a land-line makes us feel like a grown-up.)
W/ us it's compensation for being denied the tube the first ten yrs. of life. Lost time will be made up for eventually.
