Fun W/ 'Phones

We miss good sound: One signal, by wire, w/ clarity & comprehension for all. No more in the age of cordless, wireless & Bluetooth digital whatnot: Expect to sound as if you're underwater in all your vital, just-couldn't-wait-till-you-got-home communications for the next few yrs.
And don't get us started on today's manners!
Anyway, a look at one schmuck's collection of Bell System 'phones of the previous century.
On the left, a 1947 prototype pushbutton phone which recently sold on eBay for $17,999.99.
On the right, a clear plastic version of the 302 model. From this model on,
Western Electric manufactured limited editions of most of their models in clear plastic.

  4. When we bought our home in 1997, there were two phones just like the 302 model, hardwired into the wall.
