Didn't cross the street to check, but from the bus stop it looked as if the fixtures were gone too. We went by in April & it had been picked pretty clean even then, & the reductions weren't large enough for us to pick up something otherwise marginal.
Don't think there is a bookstore left on the Boulevard or Sunset, other than Hollywood Book & Poster, which took over the Book City space, & maybe another rare, mostly Hollywood, editions shop on the south side of the Boulevard, but it may well be gone too.
We broke down & put a Kindle on the devil lap-top, but are too cheap to download even 99¢ editions.

Closer to DEATH.
ReplyDelete"Morbidly Juvenile" Editor:
ReplyDeleteCloser every fucking nano-second.
On the other hand, if, all things considered, we haven't died yet, we may be post-mortal.
So it's gone, then?
ReplyDeleteNo more drunken afternoons at the Hungry Cat followed by book shopping....sigh.
We always end up at the Hungry Cat on Sunday afternoons when we're stupid enough to go, "Hey, let's go to Musso's!"
