Sam Sifton's diversion from editor on the rise to restaurant critic lasted just over two years. He was named today as the next national editor of the New York Times, as new executive editor Jill Abramson continues to build her team. This makes Sifton the editor more or less over most California reporting.WTF, NYT, W.T.F.?

NYT chief restaurant critic Frank Bruni replaced Frank Rich as an op-ed columnist, now this:
