Back went I went to High School, we had to wear jacket and tie. One year I was mostly sporting a brown corduroy 3 piece suit with major bellbottoms (actually giant flairs that started just below the knee).
We too were forced to endure coat & tie. They called us "Flash" due to various late '60s polka-dot/paisley shirt/tie combos. And the brocade pimp shirt. And the issue 13-button US Navy bells. Them was the days.
