History Shows Again & Again

Discussion of David "Axis of Evil" Frum's "Gee, are we on the right stupid, or what?" item. All well & good, but no one we've read has reacted to the opening sentence.
Conservatives and Republicans today suffered their most crushing legislative defeat since the 1960s.
And would that "crushing defeat" be Medicare, the Civil Rights Act, or both? (Imagine this Great Nation of Ours™ today if those acts hadn't passed when they [finally] did.) No wonder the former Bush-speech writer's no more specific. It just sucks to be on the wrong side of history every bleedin' time, dunnit?
