Empty Symbolic Gestures

President Obama not having clocked Hugo Chavez at the American heads of state conference or whatever meeting that was is cozying up to yadda yadda left yadda dictators or something. Likewise, per some schmuck quoted in POLITICO, for the governor of a state not to leave it when the current Prez comes calling is a bad thing.
“We were very disappointed with Gov. Charlie Crist when he supported the stimulus, the bailout, and he appeared publicly with President Obama,” said Everett Wilkinson, a South Florida-based organizer for Tea Party Patriots. “The opposition comes from Crist’s support for the largest spending plan ever and the environmental policies he’s pushing on the American people.”
So, on the back of their sweeping electoral victory the patriots will be purging the squishy RINOs, in order to consolidate their permanent majority. Let no one be in the same city as the President, lest they suffer at the hands of such as Erick The Purginator, son of Erick The Pure!!
Erick Erickson, founder and editor of the influential conservative blog RedState, has urged tea party activists to “put down the protest signs” and stage takeovers of local Republican parties.

“Grass-roots activists need to start infiltrating the party,” said Erickson. “The only way to start getting [the establishment] back is to start pounding them with every fist we have.”
Whose minions will doubtless be shipping Silly Putty™ & rubber balls to the ideologically impure any day now. Or, "pounding them w/ every fist" they have. Who says Republicans are a bunch of one-armed thugs?
