I Am Have A Pain In The Ass

Two words, twice: Trochanteric bursitis, gluteal tendinitis. En anglais? See title.

Result: Painless steroid injection, which may cause improvement by the wknd. As an experienced cynic, I'm not holding my breath.

Other notes: Diagnosis (Efficient: 45 min. in the room, diagnosis to treatment.) by "sports doctor" took place downtown, fortunately w/in easy limping distance of the Red/Purple B/D Line. While I was nervous about riding in an enclosed tube w/ zillions of plague germs & the germbags carrying them (busses have been about as crowded as pre-plague) the train was virtually empty both ways, no more than eight or ten germbags per car, possibly due to the recently strengthened stay-in-your-homes rules. Which did lead to having to stand in line at a Ralphs for a few mins. before being let in. Nicely uncrowded once inside. Seems like a good idea even if the plague does disappear.

Last note: Buttermilk skies.

  1. I didn't even know we had tendons in our ass. I guess that "The Hip Bone's Connected to the Thigh Bone" song was not as comprehensive an anatomy education as I so blithely assumed.

Thanks for updating us on the prognosis. Any improvement?

Fine instruction as far as your skeleton goes, but there is a lot of other crap inside us.

Still walking like Walter Brennan, but the pain has already lessened. Not bad considering the last time this happened it took about nine months to subside. And I was worried about hip replacement. Whew!
