Militarized Society Report

Didn't know firefighters are armed now.
The blaze was difficult to fight; firefighters had to use high-powered rifles to shatter the windows to get water inside.

  1. You often hear that phrase "high powered rifle". I wonder what it actually means? You don't hear much about "low powered rifles", so it seems to be pretty much synonymous with "rifle".

On the other hand, people like to refer to the AR-15 and AK-47 as "high powered rifles", when in fact they are anything but, being built to fire intermediate class cartridges.

In this case, I very much doubt they felt the need to use genuine high powered rifles to shoot out the windows of a boat. In fact, they probably DID us an AR. .300 WinMag or .338 Lapua would seem to be way too much round for breaking glass...

  2. See. Drones are good for some things.

Not a rim fire cartridge? Actually, I think it means a muzzle velocity greater than around 1000 F.P.S.
