50 yrs. ago today, Touch-Tone dialing was introduced to these United Snakes by the American Telephone & Telegraph Co. in two towns in Pennsylvania, Carnegie and Greensburg.
Pulse Editor: Ma Bell was in no hurry, at least in SoCal. The singular we didn't have Touch-Tone until the late '70s or the early '80s, & then only because we'd had to call Pacific Bell & the repairman asked if we wanted Touch-Tone while he was there.
Course that's the only time we can remember having to call them because the line was dead, but that could still be a coincidence.
Shouldn't we all start a Goo-glay++ "hangout?" And, like, hang out?
You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to have an attorney present while you are commenting. If you cannot afford an attorney, you are "Shit Outta Luck" (SOL). Anything you type here can & may be used against you in a court of law or in a personal "beat-down" administered by a staff member or "associate" of this "web log."
The publisher thanks Google/Bugger for denecessitating verification. (Not that we need explain anything to anyone.)
Funny how long the rotary dial phones stuck around.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to take this moment to state:
