Where's The Fire, General?

Other than the Civil War-style shoulder straps (?) the U.S. Army's blue uniforms make officers look like firefighters.

  1. Not so fast. You will find that Firefighter dress uniforms are offten modeled after the US Marine Enlisted blue uniforms(1912 model). They are either standing or lay down collars in red pipping with white head gear.
Police departments on the other hand tend to model their blue uniform's after the current US Army blue uniform(1938 model). As for the other branches.
The Navy's officer's uniforms (1913 model) get copied by Captains on Cruise liners and luxury yachts.
The Air Force goes the opposite direction. They model their blue uniforms(1997 model)after Delta Airlines.

Wasn't intended to be an actual historical thing, but thanks for the info.

You mean McPeak's USAF outfits? A little earlier than '97.
