Too Late!

Warned of the robot menace/plague & suddenly we are advised "There is a problem w/ your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly."

What the fuck? Four yrs. of using the damn thing 16/18 hrs. a day (seldom on battery power, by the way) 99 out of 100 days & it goes bad? How much will this cost us?

  1. Most likely it's lying to you. The battery in this Dell laptop I'm tippy-typing on right now died four years ago. When it was in its death throes, it often made a series of irrational threats - I blame the dementia. But when it finally rolled over and went tits up, everything still works fine (as long as it's plugged in, of course). It has a little flashing yellowish orange light that flashes incessantly, but it stopped bugging me after a week or two...

Lying? We'll believe that it may not be holding as much of a charge as it used to.

We'll just hope the juice keeps flowing through the battery even when it dies completely. Fortunately we're not in the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf using the damn thing all the time. And we're only getting a non-flashing red "X" in the power icon.
