Seriously, do you have to make the bat house look like a cave? Does it have dowels they hang from when they're taking bat-naps?
it's kind of just a narrow box with a slot at the bottom, and there's a vent slot towards the top. We even painted the outside to match our house.

I once watched one eating a pigeon in the parking lot outside the Santa Monica Courthouse.
