TNR comments; the very first is a review of
Alien Resurrection by real man typist Bowman. Spoiler Alert: Winona Ryder plays a "lesbian android." (Now he's spoiled it for us.)
There are sound reasons--unbigoted ones--for our policy on gays in the military.

As far as we know, gay people kill just like "straight" people, so who's questioning their manliness?
P. S.: Can't have "violent criminals" in the military? What the hell? We don't want non-violent criminals "defending" us, do we?
