Six Weeks To Live

HACLA Expects to Operate Normally For the Next Several Weeks
Despite Federal Government Shutdown

The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) expects to continue its normal operations, providing full services, paying landlords, vendors and employees over the next several weeks despite the federal government shutdown.

January payments for HACLA’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program for the landlords are in place and went out at the beginning of the month. HUD has informed us that February payments are expected to go out on time as well. It is not clear at this time that HUD will have adequate resources for March payments should the current government shutdown stretch into March.

HACLA receives most its funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which is one of the federal branches directly affected by the shutdown. We continue to stay optimistic and trust* that the shutdown will be resolved before it starts impacting our agency and the people it serves.
This reporter has been thinking/planning that beyond shooting one's former landlords in their offices or in the streets like the rabid dogs they are, one could find where they live, in order to determine exactly how flammable their residences are, under (windy, preferably) field conditions.

Who says irony is dead?
*Fuck you stupid jerks in every "staying optimistic, trusting" hole in your damn bodies. None of you shits will be on the streets, will you?
