To Hell W/ The Mayor,
& The Board Of Supervisors

"A lot of people have asked, and rightly so, 'Why isn't homelessness gone?'" Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said at a kickoff event for the count Tuesday night. Residents will see some progress this year, including "pop-up villages" and new housing, Garcetti said.

"In five years we can cut this population on the street in half," Garcetti said. "And in 10 years … we can end life on the street."

L.A. County Board of Supervisors Chairman Mark Ridley-Thomas urged patience and realistic expectations, saying: "This is not about perfection. It is about progress."
TEN FUCKING YRS.? TEN? I'd like to strip both of these heartless uncaring bastards naked & throw them on the street downtown. Or just force them to spend a night sleeping on the fucking street. Their "be patient, progress is being made" tune might change a little. Board Chair Ridley-Thomas is of the African-American persuasion; did he think black people should have just sat & waited, & convinced themselves that in a few hundred more yrs. Honky America might come around & stop legal discrimination, rather than standing up for their rights?

Remember, trillions for war & murder on the other side of the world, not even a few million for affordable housing, or prosecuting rent-seeking landlords out of business, which is the real answer to the problem.

From the L.A. Times, which is also a part of this problem, & a hell of a lot of other problems.
