Alley Oop!

Srsly, "holding on through the holidays" is a thing that's been observed, innit? Local hypenate & perhaps virtual definition of "Show Biz Lice" Kim Fowley has followed local writer Al Martinez in shuffling off this mortal coil.

The Variety obit, typed by one-time pal in Camel straight-smokin' Chris Morris (less'n o' course Christopher Morris is not the typist known as Chris).

What makes it a Variety obit? The closing paragraph. You do not exist unless you have been recorded/broadcast:
Fowley was prominently featured in the 2003 documentary “Mayor of the Sunset Strip,” about L.A. DJ and onetime club owner Bingenheimer, a close friend. In Floria Sigismondi’s 2010 biopic “The Runaways,” Fowley was portrayed by Michael Shannon.
Pointless anecdote of a casual intersection: 1976-ish this reporter was himself impresario-ing (for lack of a better term) a Chaka Khan & Rufus derivative who were rehearsing at Stupid Instrument Rentals (the Santa Monica just east of Vine studios) & the Runaways w/ Fowley in attendance were also rehearsing there. Point being many have heard of the Runaways, few have heard of Cheyenne. Thus crumbles the cookie. I suppose I win because I haven't died of bladder cancer yet. Whee.
