Fucking Time Warp Or Somethin'?

When & where in the hell am I? In what Möbius-twisted dimension is it news (or information, even) that Hall & Oates are were & will remain a suckfest of inanity & limp crap? I mean, why now? Has anyone anywhere given over three secs. of thinking to them in the last X yrs.? (O.K., the blonde one's webcast/tee vee show isn't actually causing that many suicides, depending on the artiste featured.) Sez Slate:
the Bird & the Bee, who recorded a full album of Hall & Oates tunes, to Alison Brie, whose Brooklyn band performs “Rich Girl,” because of course
Oh. Youth. I hope that's a meteor bound for Brooklyn.

Will someone now dare claim (or at least make it clear to the ignorant youth before we are subjected to any more tribute* albums) that Loggins & Messina blow chunks as well? Seals & Crofts? England Dan & John Ford Coley? Tom & Jerry?

And what's w/ that duo dynamic? I'm no musical encyclopædia, but Google agrees there's nothing. When two white guys collaborate are each other's "testosterones" cancelled? (Can't think of any "hard" rock/metal duos. Certainly no successful/known ones.)

Yet R&B duos (mixed) work: Peaches & Herb, Mickey & Sylvia. Even R&B dudes: Don & Dewey. Now, I don't want to wax Goldbergian, but the "soft rock, limp dick (at a minimum metrosexual)" conclusion is foregone here.

Soon in Salon: "STAR WARS: Y'All Ever Notice Them Prequels Ain't So Good?" & "Hitler: Even Worse Than You Thought!"

*"Millions for defense but not one damn penny for tribute" albums.

I'm reminded of this.

Hall and Oats? Really?
Isn't the point of a tribute album to pay homage to music you like?

Not in Brooklyn, the point is to be ironic and postmodern.

The Bird and the Bee are (I think) a Topanga-related band, so don't hate me too much.
