Nausea Editor:
A Popeye's desert around here. The chance of finding a Popeye's cup juxtaposed w/ a Mickey D's location (& on a stable surface I could shoot from) are very low.

Closest Kentucky's are 0.5 & 0.8 miles away. Who wouldn't want to eat here, & only a half-mile hump away?

You need some animated gifs here.

Yezzz, I think there are one or two unpublished that are even more closely matched, but the editorial staff is still contemplating the effort of attempting to figure out transparency in GIMP.

Ah. There's a toolboxy thing that controls layers, and you can play with transparency there if you want to see one layer through another to line it up; there's an Opacity control. Go Windows>Dockable Dialogs>Layers, and you might have to choose your image from the drop-down because GIMP is flaky about understanding what it's actually working on.

Also layers have to have an "alpha" channel: that's the amount of transparency. So if you start with jpgs and you want transparency, you need to do Layer>Transparency>Add Alpha Channel.

I was afraid you'd interpret that as a plea for help.

You really ought to stop being so decent & helpful.

Priorities have now shifted to defending myself from bug attacks, but we'll give your advice a shot. Pretty sure we didn't go near any "Dockable Dialogs."

Speaking of which, I hope you laundered or something after visiting the Bunker of Doom, due to said bugs. (And you probably should have on general principles.) Even your devil-box-containing bag might've acquired hitch-hikers.
