Game Of Thrones Recap

It's all over the Internet or something. No wait. Don't have HBO, don't give a flying crap.

P.S.: G-D pretentious fictional fantasy (Or fantasy fiction. Redundant either way?) telebision drivel. Puh-leeze. Just relax, dim-bulb nation.

Nothing pretentious about Game of Thrones. George R.R. Martin specifically wrote the books as the antidote to pretentious unrealistic fantasy. The nobles are all venal brutal assholes, the royals are all either stuck up prigs or monsters, the peasants are opportunistic jerks, and the good guys always lose. It's the most brutal experience I've been through since... uhm, well, I don't talk about that.

That said, the people surprised by that episode are wusses. They ought to know by now that the "good guy" *always* dies in Game of Thrones. Get a bunch of the "good guys" into one place, and you can expect blood to flow by the bucket. Just how it works in that world -- the good guys *always* finish last in George R.R. Martin's universe. Kinda like this one, now that I think of it...

Lazy Editor:
C'mon, if "pretentious" isn't a perfectly good term for something popular & fantastic we know little about, what is?
