Handicapped Parking Hawk

Check out this hawk spotted early this morning at Dodger Stadium ... this is a real photo!
From the Former Bums o' Brooklyn's Twit feed. While we've seen many a hawk aloft near the hills, we've never caught one at rest.

he doesn't have the special plates. He's gonna get a hefty fine.

In la-la land temporary placards are issued as well. Hawk's may be on the dashboard or hanging from the rear-view mirror.

on a related note, it seems that we finally have an occupant in the bat house we mounted on our chimney; that little flying mammal was swooping through the backyard chowing on mosquitoes something fierce tonight.

Bat-Shit Editor:

You don't have skeeter trucks up/back there?

Seriously, do you have to make the bat house look like a cave? Does it have dowels they hang from when they're taking bat-naps?

it's kind of just a narrow box with a slot at the bottom, and there's a vent slot towards the top. We even painted the outside to match our house.

there's a plastic mesh on the back wall for them to cling to.

I once watched one eating a pigeon in the parking lot outside the Santa Monica Courthouse.
