Strangers On A Train

Modest Proposal:

Just to the north of these United Snakes (Yes, there's a whole nation of 'em up there, ignernt 'Murkin.) Canadians are having their own troubles w/ fascism (i.e., they're holding a "democratic" election in which they are permitting fascists to vote).

Perhaps we & they could work out an exchange of sorts. (No copper would ever look twice at sweet little us for dealing w/ someone who's a mostly Canadian problem.)

Note to ourself: Will need "Murder!" category soon, huh?

Three viable parties, and we pick the guy with the most votes. If we're lucky we'll be governed by a party with a near-40% voter approval rating! Yay!

I get to vote for the socialist in my riding, and he'll win and remain powerless.

Vote Fraud Editor Reports:

Two parties, then?

Our system is great too. Haven't lived for X+ yrs. in any district (or state, Prez-wise) where anyone but a Dem. could be elected, so I can vote Green, Peace & Freedom, or various reactionary loons. It's fun knowing that one's vote is one of the less than a thousand cast for the American Independent Party loser, instead of lost among the scores of thousands for Henry Waxman.

Four parties. One for Quebec only, the mild socialists I vote for, and the Liberals and Conservatives. Probably a minority government for the Conservatives, which at least keeps them in line as they have to swing to the left to stay elected. A majority government would be a big problem.
