A Day At The Races

Yeah, yeah, we know, you just got a copy of None Dare Call It Treason or perhaps None Dare Call It Conspiracy from the Bircher book-store & you're all het up about the Rockefellers & the Trilateral Commission & The CFR & the Fabian Society & dirty commies & ... We had much the same reaction when we read NDCIT , when it first came out. In 1964. When we were 10. The vast conspiracy hasn't made much progress in population reduction in the ensuing 45 yrs., so forgive us if our FTLs aren't in a bunch.
Actually, though it's hee-larious, that's not the point here. See the sign at the top? Don't look, we'll transcribe the visible parts. It says:
BORDER DEFENSE $1 T +
We guess the sign-toter would like to see a trillion (plus!) thrown at putting up a fence or force-field or some such on the border, & would prefer that to health care for American citizens. Whatever. But it's the line below that makes us wonder.
OFF-TRACK BETTING
Pro or con? Is there a new issue of national import coming to the fore? Has the thoroughbred abuse industry decided to get some astroturfing going for themselves? Is OTB socialism, or the ultimate in capitalism? Why are we so confused? The questions go on forever, but our patience doesn't.
