Obama's New Politics (of Surrender)

No, not "stealth Muslim Obama" turning the keys to the nation over to Osama Bin Laden. Please. But the "new politics" or whatever the hell Obama's been vaguely babbling about. Let's think about this crap for a minute. Essentially he's talking "bi-partisanship." Never mind that the nation, or at least those who vote in the presidential horse races, seems to be fairly evenly polarized (hard to tell for sure w/ all those Republican electoral high jinks). Note also that the Republicans were running Congrefs from 1995 through 2007. Just how bi-partisan were they, w/ their "Contract on America," the insane & inane impeachment of Slick Willie Clinton over a "crime" that's committed in divorce court hundreds of times a wk. throughout This Great Nation of Ours™, & plenty of other crap that we've mercifully pushed out of our consciousness? Not even to mention the obstructionism the Rs have been pursuing since last yr. Add the Karl Rove determination that it was no longer necessary to attempt to get independents, swing voters, floaters or whatever in order to capture the presidential flag. No more of that "Compassionate Conservative" & "I'm a uniter, not a divider" (Probably meant he couldn't do what Jethro Bodine used to call "gozintas.") crap spewing from Bush's smirking pie-hole, just the fear-mongering needed to "energize the base." And we shouldn't forget DICK Cheney's succinct response ("So?") to the question "How about the American people polling as 70% against the Iraq occupation?" The Rabid Weasels of the Right Wing are about as interested in meeting the forces of righteousness & true freedom halfway as a rabbit is in meeting a hawk halfway. So please tell us, Senator Obama, what you will do to change the Republican mind set, which is still, in their optimistic "They'll greet us w/ flowers" way, stuck on Rove's idea that a permanent Republican majority can be achieved? Judging from your recent pro-gun, pro-execution, pro-McCain (anti-Gen. Wesley Clark) & pro-"faith-based initiatives" statements, your attempt to create a "new politics" is more of an attempt to continue the politics of Republican repression, & "reach out" to the right by (Dare we say it? Yes!) appeasing them. Be a man & show some spine for a change. And give up on this "faith" crap. It's bullshit. It's deliberate ignorance. It's "don't confuse me w/ reality, my mind has been made up for me by the mistranslated fantasy literature of almost six thousand yrs. ago." America doesn't really deserve better, but it would be nice to give it a shot anyway.

Obama is really throwing a wet blanket on my enthusiasm for him.

Change We Can Believe In is sounding more like the Same Old Tired Democrat Bullshit.

Yep, just another politician. A better speaker than we've seen in a while, but that may be it. If only he were the radical, commie-idea flirting, secret terrorist all the RW scaredy cats whine about.
